Cranky Baristas

To go along with my cranky coffee drinker post from a few days ago, this post is entitled cranky barsitas. Yesterday I was working atstarbucks, and I was so miserable. Usually i have so much fn there, but for some reason yestedray was absolutly horrible. My shiftwas super short as well, I worked 8:30-10:30, so you would think I could drink a cup of coffee, and be happy. I was not however happy. I think part of the issue was I didn't make coffee for very many people, i was just cleaning up the mess from the day. part of what i like abut that job is making coffee for people and chatting and I did none of that last night. We were also there till almost midnight cleaning, which was kid of poopie as well. Sometimes I think I need a new part-time job. Other times i think, i just got 401k information from my part-time job, and stock option information...this is the bestpart time job ever and free coffee to boot.

Cranky Coffee Drinkers

When I got to work yesterday there was a line to the door. I was working the coffee bar, and therewere two people running registers calling out drink orders to me. I would ask people drink orders as I could to expidite the process. So- A woman orders a medium coffee. Ok. Shes maybe 7 people back in line, and the people at the registers get the coffe at Starbucks. I ask the person behind her what he would like...she flips out. She was very angry that I would ask the perosn behind her what they wanted rather than be getting her coffee. yes, I did ask her first. BUT_ there were 7 people ahead of her in line before she paid. I was simply trying to go ahead and start drinks for people that were time consuming. This woman was exreamly hostile. I wonder where people like that come from, that will get so angry about someone trying to help them get through a line more quickly. Really, we could have nt even taken hers, or anyone elses order before they reached the register, they could have all waited an additional ten minutes for their drinks. Sometimes people can be so self-centered and selfis, and then make a scene about it in public where they look like an ass.

Coffee Addicts

One of our regular customers came in and purchased two venti mochas back to back both of which he drank. he comes in every week, and I always just assumed he was someone with a well paying job who could afford to spend $10 on coffee every week. I found out last night he is actually a Mconalds employee. Unless the golden arches have started paying well, it seems weird someone would pay $10 for a night of coffee. Its funny what little addictions and pleasures we have and what we are willing to pay for them.

Vanilla Soy Chai

I made a vanilla soy chai tonight, that is the best drink ever. Ever. Something about how the vanilla milk, syrup and the spcied tea go together makes me a very happy person.

I made a french press of arabian mocha sanani this afternoon. Even several pounds later, this coffee still blows me away. This is probably the of starbuck's blends ever. As if you couldnt guess by its exhobanat price tag. I work 7-11 tomorrow at the good ol sbux, hopefull fun and frivolity will ensue.
